How it works

1
📸

Log in seconds

Snap a photo of your plate or search your food. Macros come back portion-scaled, ready to save.

2
🧠

Makuro learns you

It reads your intake and smoothed weight trend to find your real metabolism — not a generic formula.

3
🎯

Targets keep up

Your calorie and macro goals adapt as your body changes, so progress never stalls on stale numbers.

Everything you need to stay on target — nothing you don't.

The tracking essentials, tuned for how people actually eat and how bodies actually change.

📸

Log a meal from a photo

Snap your plate — up to five photos per meal, extra angles or the label — and get portion-scaled macros back to review before you save.

🍚

Food data that speaks your language

Search in your own script or romanization — with deep coverage of Japanese and Asian foods, and serving sizes that match how food is actually served.

📈

Adaptive energy targets

Expenditure is learned from your own logged data and smoothed weight trend — not a static formula that ignores how your body actually responds.

⚖️

Trends that mean something

A noise-tolerant weight trend, intake vs. target, and expenditure over time — so a heavy-sodium day does not read as real progress or a setback.

🏷️

Labels, barcodes — or just words

Photograph a nutrition label, scan a barcode, or type “150 g rice, two eggs”. Every way to log — no photo required.

⌚️

iPhone, Watch, and widgets

A fast, native app on the latest iOS — plus home-screen widgets and an Apple Watch companion: glance at what’s left today and log weigh-ins from your wrist.

Questions, answered

The things people ask before they start.

Is it accurate?

Makuro learns your real energy needs from your own data instead of a one-size-fits-all formula. After 2–3 weeks of logging it’s tuned to your metabolism, not a population average.

Do I have to weigh myself every day?

Daily weigh-ins help most, because Makuro smooths out the water-weight noise to find your true trend — but it works with whatever cadence you keep. More data just sharpens the picture.

Do I need a photo to log?

No — type what you ate (“150 g rice, two fried eggs”), scan a barcode or a nutrition label, or search the database. Photos are just the fastest way.

Is my data private?

Your health data is yours. Makuro is designed to keep tracking on your device and never sells your data. Full details live in our privacy policy.
